AKWESASNE -- The final weekend of Mohawk International Raceway’s 2012 racing season is a full weekend of events Sept. 14 and 15.

All four of DIRTcar’s major touring divisions will be at the track, as well as the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series and the final round of the CKON 97.3 TUSA Mod Lite Series.

Friday night’s program will consist of the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series with Jimmy Phelps looking to repeat his performance from one year ago and take the win with series point leader Matt Sheppard, Brett Hearn, and Mohawk’s very own 358 Modified track champion Billy Dunn amongst the long list of contenders.

Also in action will be the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series, the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series and an open race for Mod Lites and Bandits.

Mohawk Raceway will be back in action Saturday with the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series, joined by the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series and the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series as well as the final round in the CKON TUSA Mod Lite Series.

Billy Decker was last year’s winner of the 75 lap 358 Modified event that will see several other top drivers in the division take on the talented Mohawk International Raceway regulars.

Gates open at 3 p.m. Friday, with hot laps underway at 6:30 p.m. Friday’s admission prices are $35 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and under. Pit admission is $40 without a DIRTcar license and $37 with the license.

Saturday’s single day admission is $30 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under. Pit admission is $37 without a DIRTcar license and $34 with the license.

All-weekend passes are available at $55 for adults, $22 for kids 12 and under. Weekend pit admission is $65 for DIRTcar members with license and $70 without a license. Hot laps will begin at 6:30 on Saturday night.

There is live entertainment all weekend long. The track will serve breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday and will offer lunch specials, and daily drink specials at the bar on site. There is free camping on site, with showers available. There is plenty of handicap parking and seating at the track.

In case of inclement weather on either day, Sunday, Sept. 16 has been reserved as a rain date.

Mohawk International Raceway is in Akwesasne, midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall, Ont. and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. From Route 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road.
