AKWESASNE – The championship battles are beginning to take form in all divisions on the card tonight at Mohawk International Raceway.

The top four Modifieds drivers are separated by just 12 points, as Billy Dunn, Chris Raabe, Brian McDonald and Carey Terrance are strongly in the mix. Dunn is the reigning champion, and with four wins in the first six races of the year, is looking tough to beat.

Dylan Evoy has been the guy to beat in recent years in the Sportsman division, but Corey Wheeler leads the way by just six points over Evoy. Positions three through five are in a tight battle as well, separated by just 13 points, but quite a ways behind the two front runners.

Stephane Lebrun sits at the top of the Pro Stock point standings so far this year, but Rock Aubin and PJ Peters are both just 12 points back.

Joel Hargrave has a nine point advantage over Harley Brown in the Mod Lite division, and Jean Marc Larose is dominating the Bandit division with a 32 point lead over Darryl Mitchell.

Pit gates and spectator area will open at 4 p.m. Heat races start at 7:30. Pit admission is $25 with DIRTcar license and $30 without. Grandstand admission is $12 with children 12 and under admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Coming up next Friday night is the rescheduled visit from the Empire Super Sprints after getting rained out last month.

World of Outlaw Sprint Car start Craig Dollansky will make a special appearance as he, his car, hauler, and his merchandise trailer will be on display at the track. The Pro Stocks and Bandits will not be on the schedule for Friday, July 26.

Mohawk International Raceway is midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. From Route 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road.

Racing is held on Friday nights from May through September, featuring the Frenchie's Chevrolet DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Mod Lites as well as the Bandit division.
