AKWESASNE – Mohawk International Raceway opens its 2013 season this Friday night featuring 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Mod Lites and Bandit class cars.
The 358 Modifieds will battle for 25 laps in their opening night main event, while the Sportsman and Pro Stocks will run for 20 laps. The Mod Lites will compete in a 12 lap feature and the Bandits will race for 10 laps to decide their opening night winner.
Pit gates and spectator area open at 4 p.m. Heat race action gets underway at 7:30. Pit admission is $25 with a DIRTcar license and $30 without. Grandstand admission is $12 with children 12 and under admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
The action is presented by Mac’s Marina.
Racing action continues at MIR throughout May with the first round of the Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” 358 Modified Series on Friday, May 24, and Hometown Auto – Driver Autograph Night on Friday, May 31.
Mohawk International Raceway is midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. From Route 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road. Racing is held on Friday nights at 7:30 PM from May through September.
