AKWESASNE -- Mohawk International Raceway plans a night of action Friday as the TUSA Mod Lite Series visits MIR along with a full program for the Modifieds, Sportsman and Bandits.

The final month of the regular season kicks off and we have some fantastic championship battles brewing in some of our divisions with just a few events remaining.

August will be a big month for the MIR Kids Club, it is free to sign up, and there are some great prizes to be given away each week. On Friday, Aug. 1, Aug. 15, and Aug. 22, Mohawk Raceway will send a young fan home with an Apple iPad Mini 16GB device, and on Friday, Aug. 29 the track will give out an Apple iPad Air 16GB device. Kids Club members must be present to be eligible to win.

General admission for Friday night is just $12 for adults. Children 12 and get in for free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $25for DIRTcar Members and $30 for non-members. There is a 10% exchange on Canadian currency.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 p. m., and the stands open at 5 p.m. Racing gets underway at 7:30.

Friday night will also be Canada Appreciation Night, with all Canadian residents (must have ID) receiving $4 off the General Admission price.

Next Friday night MIR is closed but will resume on Friday, Aug. 15 as Adirondack Power Sports presents a full racing program plus the Mohawk Race Parts Pro Stock Series.

Mohawk International Raceway is located in Akwesasne, NY, midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall, ONT and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. Racing is held on Friday nights at 7:30 PM from May through September, featuring the Frenchie's Chevrolet DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Mod Lites as well as the Bandit division.
