CANTON – An open house at the Canton VFW, 34 Gouverneur St., will be held Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. where the Watertown Mobile Vet Center will be set up to provide assistance and support to veterans.
Services include free individual counseling, and bereavement counseling for families who lost loved ones during active duty. They will also provide screening and referral services for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, traumatic brain injury (TBI), military sexual trauma (MST), and substance abuse. Information on VA benefits and employment services will also be available.
In addition to the Mobile Vet Center, the St. Lawrence County Veterans Representative Mike Bopery will be available to assist veterans by providing information and answering questions concerning veteran topics.
