POTSDAM -- Clarkson University will host Military Appreciation Day in the Student Center on Saturday, Sept. 10.
All veterans and the general public are welcome to attend the free event cosponsored by Clarkson University, the North Country Veterans Association and Mort Backus and Sons.
A keynote address will be delivered at 10:30 a.m.by Retired Army Colonel Gary A. Rosenberg, former garrison commander of Fort Drum.
The event will also include a wellness fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; a welcome and veterans recognition ceremony at 10 a.m.; an entrepreneurship and business building networking session featuring Clarkson's Reh Center for Entrepreneurship and Shipley Center for Innovation from 11 a.m. to noon; and a Syracuse VA Medical Center Virtual VA Clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There are more than 47,000 veterans living in the North Country in Lewis, Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton counties.
