'Metal Pair Catalysts for Solar Fuels' to be discussed for final Science Cafe

“Metal Pair Catalysts for Solar Fuels” is the topics for the final Science Cafe meetings April 19 and 20 in Canton and Potsdam.

The cafe will be held Tuesday, April 19, in the Parkview Common, above Blackbird Cafe, 107 Main St., Canton.

The second cafe takes place Wednesday, April 20, at the St. Lawrence Valley Roasters & Jernabi coffee house, 11 Maple St.

Both events take place at 7:15 p.m.

Plants transform light, carbon dioxide and water in oxygen and sugar fuels through the elegant process of photosynthesis.

Imagine the boon to the environment if we could only replicate that process.

Join St. Lawrence University Assistant Professor of Chemistry Adam Hill to hear about the state-of-the-art in artificial photosynthesis and the use of "heterobimetallic" materials -- specially designed combinations of paired metals -- in the effort to produce green energy.
