'Merry Tuba Christmas' to feature sing-alongs, Christmas favorites in Potsdam Dec. 7

POTSDAM -- Sing-alongs and Christmas favorites are on tap for audience goers at the annual “Merry Tuba Christmas,” planned for Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 26 Main St.

The audience can sing along to songs of the Christmas season, accompanied by euphoniums and other members of the tuba “family” under the direction of Keith Shult.

Musicians who want to participate should arrive for registration at 12:30 p.m., with practice at 1 p.m.

A $10 registration fee will apply. Players must bring music stands or lyres. Festive clothing and horn decorations are encouraged.

Limited supplies of program music will be available. Players may obtain the music in advance from The Harvey Phillips Foundation at www.tubachristmas.com.

Admission to the concert is free, although donations will be accepted to support the Potsdam Neighborhood Center.
