'Merry Tuba Christmas' on tap Dec. 3 at Methodist Church in Potsdam

POTSDAM – Tubas, euphoniums, and other members of the great tuba family will gather at the United Methodist Church, Main Street, to play music of the season under the direction of Keith Ziemba Saturday, Dec. 3 at the annual Merry Tuba Christmas.

Registration begins at 1:15, and rehearsal commences at 1:30 p.m.

The registration fee is $5.

Players must bring personal music stands or lyres. Bright, festive clothes, and horn decorations are encouraged.

Limited supplies of the program music will be available for sale. Players may obtain the music in advance from the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce or directly from The Harvey Phillips Foundation via www.tubachristmas.com.

The public is invited to enjoy the concert in the church sanctuary at 4 p.m. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted to support a local charity yet to be determined.

There will be sing-along opportunities for many of your Christmas favorites.
