CANTON -- Cooperative Extension will hold a “Meating the Market” meeting Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. for livestock producers.
The emphasis is on beef but sheep, swine and poultry producers are welcome.
The meeting will be held at the Extension Learning Farm classroom.
Steve LeDoux from Jefferson County Cooperative Extension will present a short presentation on Beef Marketing 101.
Adirondack Beef is owned and operated by Steve and his family near Lowville.
Steve will share his experience as well as recruit farmers for a meat cooperative.
A meat cooperative would provide an organized way to market beef, lamb, pork and poultry both locally and to city areas of New York State.
Come and share your ideas and concerns for organizing the cooperative.
The meeting is free but registration is appreciated.
Register with the CCE office at 379-9192.
The Extension Learning Farm located at 2043B, State Highway 68.
