MASSENA—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will continue its free “Friday Matinees” in February with showings of three contemporary movies at the admission-free Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
The movies will be shown at 1:30 p.m. in the visitors center auditorium. Free popcorn will also be available.
The movie schedule is as follows:
• Feb. 3: “Water for Elephants” (2011). A veterinary student abandons his studies, after his parents are killed, and joins a traveling circus as their vet.
• Feb. 10: “I Don’t Know How She Does It” (2011). Based on the critically acclaimed bestseller by Allison Pearson, “I Don't Know How She Does It,” follows a Boston-based working mother trying desperately to juggle marriage, children, and a high-stress job.
• Feb. 17: “Moneyball” (2011). The story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analyses to draft his players.
• Feb. 24: NYPA will be showing family-friendly movies for children during the winter break from school. The movies will be shown at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
