MASSENA – A retirement party for St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Pat McKeown is set for May 22 in at the Massena Country Club on Route 131.

The party will take place at the River Road Restaurant inside the country club. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $30 per person, and includes a contribution toward a gift. Veteran radio personality Sandy Cook will serve as the emcee for the evening.

McKeown began as interim executive director at the Chamber in 2007, and shortly thereafter was named permanent director. She spearheaded the region's first broadband initiative, as well as FISHCAP, the award-winning program promoting the St. Lawrence River Valley as a sport-fishing destination.

Prior to her work at the chamber, McKeown was editor of The Massena Observer. She later initiated the news department at North Country Public Radio, served as former Governor Mario Cuomo’s regional representative and assumed several leadership roles at St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES.

McKeown’s successor, Brooke E. Rouse, begins at the Chamber in June.
