MASSENA -- The Massena Neighborhood Watch Program is inviting the public to the third annual “National Night Out” Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 5 – 8 p.m. in Andrews Street Park.

The family event will feature games for the kids, free food, and more. The event is also an opportunity to meet your emergency responders, look over some of their equipment, find out what Neighborhood Watch is all about, and learn more about our plans for a new Boys and Girls Club.

Free hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be provided courtesy of the Massena Permanent Firefighters and the Massena Police Protective Association. Massena Volunteer Fire Department members will cook the hot dogs.

Information booths will be set up and emergency equipment will be on display.

The Masons will offer a safety ID program by photographing and fingerprinting children to aid in their safe recovery in case they become lost or missing.

Other demonstrations will be conduct by the Massena Rescue Squad, Massena Fire Department, Massena Police Department, Neighborhood Watch Program, Massena Police K-9 and Alltech Integrations.

Residents are also urged to participate in “Unity Light Up The Night” by leaving porch lights on all night

Also planned are kids’ games provided by the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club, a bounce house sponsored by SeaComm Federal Credit Union, a coloring contest with prizes sponsored by Walmart and music provided by radio stations The Fox 101.5 and Mix 96.1.

Raffle tickets on sale for an Alltech Integrations home security system valued at $1,000. Proceeds will benefit the Massena Boys and Girls Club.
