MASSENA -- Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center are offering a guided hike to visit bird feeding stations set up along the trails in various environments including grasslands, woodlands and wetlands. This Oct. 11 hike is slated for 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Meet at the Nature Center trail head, 19 Robinson Bay Rd., and dress for weather. Pre-registration is required: 705-5022 or ncrebirth@yahoo.com. Find the group on Facebook (“Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, Inc.”) to sign up or for more information.
The event will also include information about a new grant program, “Project Tweet and Treat.”
People, families and special interest groups are still needed to be part of the program. Volunteers are sought to come out and watch birds at the Nature Center, monitoring the activity around the three bird feeder stations.
Binoculars and guide books will be available for volunteers to help them identify their sightings.
Call 705-5022 for more information. Volunteer applications can be downloaded from www.massenanaturecenter.org
