MASSENA – Massena Music Friends will host a meet-and-greet with school board candidates on Tuesday, May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the senior center, 61 Beach St.
Five candidates will seek four seats on the Massena Central School board.
The candidates are Shawn Hubbard, David LaClair Jr., Robert LeBlanc, Loren Fountaine and Mark Goodfellow.
Seats up for grabs are two five-year terms currently occupied by Fountaine and Michael Lebire, who is not on the ballot. Also up for election are two three-year seats held by Ron Faucher and John Boyce, who resigned his position.
Each candidate will be given a few minutes to introduce themselves and state why they are running.
Attendees will have a chance to ask questions to any or all of the candidates.
“When people come in they can write a question for submission,” said Carol Pulley, who is helping to organize the event.
Bob Beckstead will moderate the event.
“We are proud to sponsor this event as it is a good chance for the public to meet candidates before the vote,” she said.
