MASSENA – All Masons and a guest are welcome to attend the Saturday, Feb. 26 celebration of the 150th anniversary of Massena Lodge 513 at the Quality Inn Banquet Hall, Dar’s Restaurant and the Masonic Temple, Main Street.
A public rededication of the lodge ceremony will be held at 4 p.m.
Following that, Master Masons will participate in a tiled lodge meeting, and afterward a banquet program will feature speakers, music, and celebration.
Any Mason from Northern New York and Canada may register to attend. Cost is $25 per person in advance, and registration may be made online by following the link found at www.mastermason.com/stlawrencefreemason, or contact John Schneider at 250-1765.
Registration deadline is Feb. 16.
The current Massena Lodge 513 received its charter from the Grand Lodge of New York State in 1861, just weeks after the Civil War began.
This year they will celebrate 150 consecutive years of Masonry in Massena.
The members have been working hard behind the scenes planning their celebrations in order to host an event where the highest-ranking Masons will be attending.
Officers of the New York Grand Lodge, the central body of Masonry in the State, and those from neighboring Ontario, Canada, will arrive for a weekend of ceremony, music, toasts and a feast.
