MASSENA – The Massena Masonic Lodge along with the Massena Village Police Department will be holding a Safety Identification Event during the Massena Olde Car Club's Car Show at the Robert Moses State Park's Barnhart Island Pavillion/Picnic Area, this Sunday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 pm.

The Safety ID Program is open to the public and offered free of charge to all families within the county. No scheduled appointment is necessary.

Participants will receive a free packet or individual information to assist law enforcement in the safe recovery of a lost or missing child, student, or adult. All ages are welcome.

Permission slips for minor children must be signed by a parent or guardian.

The identification process includes fingerprinting, photos, and a short questionnaire. All information is given to the parents; only consent forms are retained. Participants receive a laminated photo ID card, a printout, and a CD-ROM containing all information as well as safety tips and materials.

The Masons and the Massena Village Police urge all families to keep this important, updateable information in a safe place, and to take it with you when traveling. This information can be imperative in the safe recovery of a lost or missing person.

If you received an ID at a previous Masonic event, now is a good time to update. As children grow, it is a good idea to get an update every year or two.

Take your CD-ROM with you to this event, and the information can be made current.

This program is sponsored by New York State Masons, and is free to all families.
