MASSENA -- A panel of addiction and recovery specialists will discuss getting help for addicts and the people close to them at the Massena Drug Free Community Coalition’s third “Let’s Take Back Our Community” town hall-style meeting April 28.
It will be 7 to 9 p.m. at the Massena Community Center, 61 Beach St.
The panel will feature representatives from Rose Hill youth drug and alcohol treatment center, St. Joseph’s Addiction Recovery and Treatment Center and Seaway Valley Prevention Council.
They will cover topics including treatment, prevention, probation and courts, detoxification services, and heroin and opioid addiction.
The panel will give a presentation, then open the floor for discussion and questions on finding help for addicts or those close to the person suffering from addiction.
Members of the coalition will be on-hand with information and handouts.
Support group for addicts’ loved ones Comrades of Hope will also have an information table. People can meet privately and talk with members.
