MASSENA – There will be a Massena Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting Saturday, Dec. 1 from 5- 8 p.m. at the 18-foot tree in front of the town hall.
Massena Chamber of Commerce, Moving Massena Forward Coalition and the Massena Downtown Theater are sponsoring the event.
Mrs. Claus, Buddy the Elf and Santa are expected to make appearances.
There will be caroling by Nightengale Elementary, Madrid Waddington school, North Country Community Chorus, Jefferson Elementary, Massena Cenral, Trinity Catholic and the GMMA.
The tree lighting will be at 7 p.m.
There will be hot chocolate and other festive fare, free horse drawn carriage rides, cookies, face-painting and a bakes sale.
A reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and a Toy and Coat Drive will be held.
