CANTON -- Charlene Strong, subject of the award-winning documentary film “For My Wife...The Making of An Activist for Marriage Equality,” will speak at St. Lawrence University following a screening of the film Sunday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall.
The event is free and open to the public. Strong was thrust into the spotlight after the death of her wife, Kate, in 2006. Strong’s dramatic congressional testimony is credited in passing Washington state's historic Domestic Partnership laws.
The film tells Strong's story against the backdrop of the national debate on marriage equality.
