SYRACUSE – The official marker of the end of summer, The New York State Fair, promises a sweet farewell to the season with a number of popular and diverse acts at the grandstand throughout the fair’s Aug. 25-Sept. 5 run.

Acts as wide-ranging as hot pop band Maroon 5 and mainstays Train, hip hop’s Ne-Yo and Cee Lo Green, class rock bands Journey, Foreigner and Night Ranger, and popular young country stars Sugarland will all take the stage this year.

• Maroon 5 and Train will co-headline the first concert of the 2011 Grandstand concert series at the New York State Fair. The two Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling bands will perform on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Gavin DeGraw will open for the show.

• R&B and hip hop artists Ne-Yo and Cee Lo Green will perform Friday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Ne-Yo, an American pop and R&B singer-songwriter, record producer and actor, has produced four studio albums and numerous singles. A former member of the Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley, Cee Lo is known for well-played radio hits, cross-genre collaborations and brilliant style.

• Selena Gomez & the Scene with opening act Christina Grimmie, presented by Kmart, will perform Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. Gomez, an award-winning actress, singer-songwriter, musician and fashion designer, continues to draw rave reviews. Grimmie is an American singer, songwriter and pianist who first gained attention as YouTube star-singer "zeldaxlove64" in 2009 and has continued to gain popularity with her musical style.

• American rock band Three Doors Down along with opening acts Saving Abel and SafetySuit will perform Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Since forming in 1996, Mississippi rock quintet Three Doors Down has sold more than 16 million albums worldwide, garnered three Grammy nominations, two American Music Awards, and five BMI Pop Awards for songwriting. Rock band Saving Abel has emerged in recent years with its initial 2008 gold-certified album, "Saving Abel," which includes singles "Addicted," "18 Days" and "Drowning (Face Down)." SafetySuit, an alternative rock band based in Nashville, released its first album, "Life Left to Go," in 2008 that produced Billboard hits "Someone Like You" and "Stay."

• Journey will bring its "Eclipse Tour" to the New York State Fair this summer along with Foreigner and Night Ranger, three of the most successful rock bands in music history. The three classic rock bands, each with numerous gold and platinum albums, will perform on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

• Lady Antebellum will return to the New York State Fair in 2011 as part of the Grandstand concert series, putting on a bigger performance, following up on their 2010 appearance that drew an estimated 30,000 people to Chevy Court. The Grammy-winning band will perform on Friday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Sunny Sweeney will open for the show.

• Sugarland, winner of the Vocal Duo of the Year at the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards, is bringing its "Incredible Machine Tour" to the fair. Sara Bareilles, the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, will open for the show. The American country music duo of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3.
