CANTON – A maple sugaring workshop, sponsored by Sustainable Living Project, is tentatively set for Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m., depending on weather conditions.
Participants will join in tapping in the sugar grove at Sow's Ear Farm with the hand-drilled tap and bucket method, using horses to transport to the sugaring house where the boiling begins.
Dress in warm, comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Bring a bag lunch if you want to stay for the afternoon boiling-off and a small container to bring home some sap and/or syrup.
A donation of $10 to $20 is suggested per person, to benefit the Sustainable Living Project and the Local Living Festival to be held on Sept. 24 and 25.
Attendance is limited to 12 attendees. For reservations, call 347-4223 or SustLivingProject@gmail.com to RSVP.
