GOUVERNEUR — Area maple sugar producers will gather at Gouverneur High School Saturday, Jan. 28, for the annual Northern New York Maple Expo.
The event, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be hosted by the Gouverneur Future Farmers of America, St. Lawrence County Cornell Cooperative Extension and the St. Lawrence County Maple Producers.
Some of the class topics will include maple confections, tubing layout and design, maple syrup flavors, discussion of the potential impact of recent events on maple trees, and marketing.
The cost to attend is $15; lunch is included.
Students in grade 12 and below are admitted free.
All classes are on a first come first-serve basis.
