POTSDAM -- William Kamkwamba, noted Malawian author of "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" will deliver the Van Sickle Endowed Lecture at Clarkson University's annual convocation on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. in Cheel Arena.
The event is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will precede the convocation from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Kodak Lounge of the Cheel Campus Center.
As a young man in Malawi, Kamkwamba constructed operable windmills using scrap metal, tractor parts and bicycle halves to help his village battle drought and famine.
