WATERTOWN – Whiz Quiz teams from Madrid-Waddington and Heuvelton schools will be honored at the WPBS-DT Whiz Quiz Awards Ceremony with Glenn Gough on Thursday, March 29, at the Watertown Elks Lodge 496.
Following a complimentary dinner, WPBS-DT will award scholarships and trophies to the first and second place American Whiz Quiz champions along with special team awards.
The 2017 American Whiz Quiz Champions from Madrid-Waddington Central School with their advisor Michelle Bresett will be awarded a scholarship check in the amount of $1,500, while the second place team from Heuvelton Central School with their advisor Bruce Durant will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship check.
Scholarships for the winning teams are provided in part by National Grid and Rotary Clubs in Watertown (Noon and Sunrise), Clayton, and Massena.
