MADRID -- The Madrid Hepburn Library, 11 Church St., will offer three free introduction to computer classes in December.
The classes will be held on the Dec. 6, 13 and 20 at 1 p.m. each day in the upstairs of the library.
These beginning classes are designed to be hands on, and will explore what a computer is, what you can use a computer for, how to launch applications and store information, exercise mouse or pointer device skills, further understanding of the desktop and the system keys on the keyboard.
Each class will build upon what was learned in the previous class.
Classes will be small.
Classes are geared toward individuals who have had limited computer experience, including anyone who is completely new to using computers.
The class on Dec. 6 is titled “What is a Computer?” and is an introduction to terminology, what can you do with a computer, and basic operation of a computer.
The Dec. 13 class will cover how to use a mouse and keyboard and will teach participants skills, including cut and paste and use of the system keys on the keyboard.
On Dec. 20 those who attend will become comfortable using applications, printing, and saving.
