MADRID -- The Madrid Dam Summer Music Series continues with Don Woodcock and friends July 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. for an evening of fiddling and more.

Looking ahead to Aug. 3, Bridge the Divide is slated to perform Christian rock. The band is based in Potsdam and was formed in 2013. Members include Aaron, Colin and Kim Reardon, Cullen Haskins and Joshua Marcolina.

On July 27, the talents, personalities, and friends made over the 25 years that Madrid hosted the Bluegrass Festival will be honored. Family members of the founder Bud Rupert will be in attendance.

The featured performer is Don Woodcock and Musical Friends.

Woodcock is a master fiddler and three-time New York State Champion. He is in the Fiddlers Hall of Fame and locally, he was honored by TAUNY.

His musical friends carry many years experience and will bring those given talents to share with us, event organizers said..

Attendees are welcome to bring along fiddles, violins, banjos and more as there will be time for some impromptu jamming after Woodcock’s performance.

Admission is free to all concerts and there will be a food concession stand in the park as a benefit for Madrid-Waddington High School seniors of 2017.

Local Madrid businesses will have special meal and food offers.

The rain location, if needed is the Madrid Community Building.
