MADRID -- Madrid-Waddington Central School will present the spring musical “Urinetown” March 21, 22, and 23 at 8 p.m.

“Urinetown” is set in a city suffering the effects of a ten-year drought. The lack of water has turned public water amenities into a luxury. People are forced to pay for use of the city's public water facilities, which are monopolized by a company called "Urine Good Company." Those who do not pay are taken to a place called Urinetown, never to return. The revolt of the poor against the monopoly takes many twists, including forbidden love, kidnapping and murder.

“Urinetown” is a satirical look at politics, mismanaged corporations and greed.

The show parodies musicals such as “West Side Story,” “Les Miserables” and “The Cradle will Rock.”

Bobby Strong will be played by Dan Cassada. Jennifer Ryan will portray Hope Cladwell and Alex Hammond will be Officer Lockstock. Little Sally will be portrayed by Alyssa Ryan, with Charles Romano as Caldwell B. Cladwell. Penelope Pennywise will be played by Logan Barkley.

Tickets will be $7 to $12.

Reserved seating is available at 322-5746 extension 172. Tickets will also be available at the door.
