Duck race, parade, fireworks and more expected at Louisville's 'Stars and Stripes Summer Bash'

LOUISVILLE -- Lousiville’s “Stars and Stripes Summer Bash” will feature a duck race, parade, food, fireworks, music, games, races and more.

It starts June 19 with a 6 p.m. ice cream social and Lions Club duck race at Louisville Volunteer Fire Department station 1, corner of Thompson Ridge Road.

On June 20, a parade starting at 11 a.m. will go from the St. Lawrence Church on Willard Road, crossing the bridge and stopping at Louisville Arena. Once there, a chicken barbeque and games will be offered at noon. Firematic races will start at 1 p.m. There will also be games of chance, a bounce house, water slide, obstacle course, bed races, human foosball, craft vendors, cake contest and auction, beer and wine tent, concession stand, wood carving demonstrations and a 5 p.m. pork roast.

DJ Dimmy Edwards will provide music starting at 1 p.m. Atomic Precipitation will perform at 6 p.m.

The day will close with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

June 21 includes an Ecumenical church service at the St. Lawrence Catholic and Louisville Community churches at 11 a.m. It closes with a picnic at the community center at 12:30 p.m. with hamburgers, hot dogs and paper goods provided. People can bring their own side dish.
