Louisville Summer Bash starts tonight with ice cream social

LOUISVILLE -- Racing lawn mowers, big band music and wine slushies are just some of what’s planned at the annual Louisville Summer Bash Friday, June 23, Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25.

Music, food, games and entertainment will be on tap at the event, which benefits the Summer Bash Committee, local Boy Scouts, Helping Hands, Lions Club and the Rod & Gun Club.

Things get started Friday with an ice cream social from 6-8 p.m. at the Louisville Fire Station #1 at the corner of Thompson Bridge Road. There will also be a duck race, Cruz-In and music by Jack Kelley’s Big Band.

A mud run steps off at the Louisville Community Center at 9 a.m. on Saturday. For more information contact Wendy Chapman at chapmanwendy0@gmail.com.

A dedication of the center to Ray Hurlbut follows at 11 a.m.

A $10 chicken barbecue starts there at noon and there will be craft and vendor sales all day.

Saturday’s events will also feature firematic drills at 1 p.m., an all-day concession stand, ice cream stand, beer tent and wine slushies by River Myst Winery

Free games and prizes for children will start at noon, along with a free water slide, bounce house, obstacle course and snowboarding by BD Entertainment.

The Rod and Gun Club will feature pull tabs all day.

A cake contest and auction is slated for 4:30 p.m. and DJ Jimmy Edwards will entertain from 1-6 p.m.

At 5 p.m. Saturday, a pork barbecue will be offered by the Ole Smokehouse and the annual bed racing event will be staged.

Human foosball and music by the Easy Street Band start at 6.

Zumba with Monica Boyeau with pizza available from the Italian Affair truck start at 7 p.m.

Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m.

On Sunday, June 25, the Louisville Community Church will hold a service at 9:15 a.m. followed by a coffee hour.

The NNY Lawnmower Association races get started at 1 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee for racers.

Concession stand, beer and wine slushies will be available at the event.
