LOUISVILLE -- Louisville’s “Summer Bash” set for June 10-12 features a car show, fireworks, games, bounce houses, vendors, beer tent, live music and lawnmower races.

“All the ducks go into a big tub at the fire station and the kids are encouraged to cool off and get the ducks moving,” said event organizer Joanne Cameron. “The first few ducks that come out of the spout are the winners.”

A dedication of the BBQ pavilion in the name of Danny Lefeve will be held at 9 a.m. with a ceremony and plaque.

“Danny and his family were always involved in barbeques in Louisville and he passed away since the last event,” Cameron said.

Things move to the Louisville Community Center on June 11 starting with a chicken BBQ and kids for games at noon.

Firematics drills start at 1 p.m.

A pork roast with food from Ole Smokehouse will begin serving at 5 p.m.

There will also be games of chance, a bounce house, water slide, obstacle course, bed races, human foosball, craft vendors, cake contest and auction, beer tent, concessions, barrel racing, square dancing, pizza from Louisville Mini Store and Stewart’s ice cream.

“We will have a really fun square dance caller who gets people from 8 to 80 up and moving,” she said.

Cameron says that someone needs to step up and take down the defending champion human foosball team from the Louisville Highway Department. Anyone can participate and teams should have at least six people.

“The bounce houses are free and run until 8 p.m., so people can attend the Heritage Festival earlier in the day and stop by when things wind down there,” she said.

DJ Jimmy Edwards will entertain from 1 to 6 p.m. followed by a live band at 6 p.m.

Fireworks will be held at dusk.

An ecumenical church service will be held at the Louisville Community Church at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 12.

Northern New York Lawn Mower Association will host races starting at 1 p.m.

“They are a great group and this is a great family event,” Cameron said. “They do a fantastic job.”

There will be beer, wine and a concession stand.

“It’s amazing that lawn mowers can go that fast…I want to mow my lawn that fast,” she said.

Entry is $5 on Sunday.

“Attendance since 2010 has been steady…we try to throw in a twist every year,” she said.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Louisville Summer Bash Committee, Louisville Cub and Boys Scouts, Louisville Helping Hands, Louisville Lions Club, local vendors and the Massena Rob & Gun Club.

“A lot of local businesses contributed and without their help and fundraisers this would not be possible, Cameron said.
