HEUVELTON -- The Lonely Heartstring Band will return to Pickens Hall, 83 State St., on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. for a concert of their signature blend of bluegrass and modern songwriting.

The acoustic quintet, based out of Boston, MA, combines old and new styles, melding the sounds of traditional bluegrass with modern songwriting and arranging.

The Heartstrings began with a common love for the music of The Beatles, bringing some of their favorite songs to life while attempting to remain true to the original arrangements.

Their sound embodies the modern American condition—an understanding and reverence for the past that informs a push into the future.

This year the group was re-nomination for the emerging bluegrass artist of the year at this year's International Bluegrass Music Associations awards show. They have several recordings to their credit. For sound samples and more information about the group, log on to http://www.lonelyheartstringband.com/.

Tickets to the Picken’s Hall performance are $15 and can be purchased at https://squareup.com/store/pickensgeneral/item/the-lonely-heartstring-band.
