POTSDAM -- In October and November, local photographer Greg Kie will teach free "Exploring Studio Lighting" classes for community members to explore ways to use artificial lighting to take photographs.
These free classes will use the SLC Arts Lighting Studio equipment which is available at the Potsdam Public Library.
The same information will be presented in both classes and will be offered: Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1-3 p.m., and Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5:30-7:30 pm. While free and open to everyone, registration is required for these classes, because each class is limited to 5 people.
"Exploring Studio Lighting" will teach the basics of supplementary lighting to photograph objects and subjects.
Class participants will use studio equipment for hands-on exploration of standard 3-point lighting techniques using key, fill, and background lights.
To register, contact SLC Arts at 315-265-6860 or programs@slcartscouncil.org.
Information and updates about the SLC Arts Lighting Studio, including how to reserve time to use the equipment independently, are available through SLC Arts at http://slcartscouncil.org/lighting-studio/.
