POTSDAM -- The founder of a local paranormal group is looking for ghost stories from Potsdam for a “ghost walk” planned for Friday, Oct. 26.
Ryan Meashaw of Rise Above Paranormal will also host a showing of “Scare-tastic: A Documentary,” a film by a local filmmaker Brad Roussell, in the Potsdam Civic Center board room at 7 p.m.
Tickets to the movie are $5, which will be donated to a local charity. Tickets are available at the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce office, 24 Market St.
That is to be followed by a Phantoms of Potsdam Haunted Tour starting at 8:30 p.m.
“We are looking to collect stories from downtown businesses and residents” to include in the tour, Meashaw said. The tour will be $5 per person, or $8 for both the tour and the film.
He said it will be an opportunity to learn some local history and learn about “paranormal investigating.” He is encouraging people to bring cameras and other equipment of their own, to have some fun seeing if they can detect paranormal activity themselves.
Proceeds from tickets sold to both events will benefit a local food bank yet to be chosen.
Stories can be submitted at “Phantoms of Potsdam Haunted Tour” on Facebook, at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Phantoms-of-Potsdam-Haunted-Tour/501604643202006, or email contact@riseaboveparanormal.com.
