The Noncommittals will play during a benefit concert for TAUNY Feb. 26 in Canton.
CANTON -- Two local bands and a local DJ will play to benefit TAUNY, at the Best Western University Inn, 90 East Main St., from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, Feb. 26.
The evening starts with music and a social hour featuring the jazz group Miles to Go (Steve Manders, Michael Farley, Tom Baker, Ted Ritzko).
Then from 8 to 10 p.m., it’s a dance party with The Noncommitals consisting of Barry Carson, Steve Manders, Nils Peterson, Ted Ritzko, Radio Bob Sauter and Ariel Shembry, playing classic rock and R&B tunes.
From 10 p.m. to midnight, DJ Tapatio, aka David Sommerstein, host of NCPR's Beat Authority, drops funk, Latin, hip hop, and pop jams.
“A late February dance party is a terrific way to lose those wintertime blues, spend time with friends, and support a great organization,” said Laura Desmond, TAUNY director of development.
“The Noncommittals have played at the Best Western in previous years for a “Winter Melt-Down” and we’re looking forward to this one,” according to Radio Bob Sauter. “The Non-commitals are committed to only one thing: great music and dancing!”
Tickets are $10 each, and can be purchased at the door or in advance at tauny.org. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit TAUNY. The Best Western University Inn will be offering a cash bar during the event.
