POTSDAM -- The Local Living Venture (LLV) will offer "Wrapping Your Hives for Winter" hosted by Bee Group member Luke Martin of Martin's Needham Road Farm Stand on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Meet at the Martin's Produce farm stand, 11 Needham Rd.
Martin will share tips about successful techniques for wrapping bee hives for the winter.
He will share ways of dealing with radiant heat and preventing deadly condensation in the hive, using easily obtainable materials to wrap the hive.
Bee headgear or more is suggested, and bringing extra gear to share is appreciated.
The bees aren't likely to be active but it's better to be prepared.
There fee is $17 for general public, $10 for bee group members, $30 for couples and $7 for student.
