MASSENA -- Paula Youmell of Hands On Health and Chelle Lindahl of the Local Living Venture will host a “how to” cooking class Thursday, February 28, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The class will cover using beans and grains to make a complete meal for as little as 28 cents a serving.
Healthy Way health food store in the Harte Haven Shopping Plaza will sponsor the class. Proprietor Bing Thomas says "It just made sense to me to make this great service available for my customers, many of whom might be a little intimidated at how to cook such a basic food - that helps families really stretch their food budget, too."
The suggested donation will be $15, $5 for students. Participants must RSVP for an exact location. To RSVP contact the venture at 347-4223, LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com.
