CANTON -- In a special kick-off event, the Local Living Festival’s "Listening Session & Planning Gathering” will be held Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The gathering will be held at the Unitarian Universalist (UU) Church, side entrance, 3-1/2 East Main St. Light refreshments will be available, courtesy of Nature's Storehouse, a natural foods and health store in Canton.
Organizers from the past four years of the festival will be on hand to guide discussion and brainstorm on how to improve the festival in coming years.
The Local Living Festival is a celebration of resourceful living skills planned for April 29, 2017 in Canton and includes speakers, workshops, vendors and activities for all ages.
Activities are centered around traditional rural and homesteading skills, with topics including growing and preserving food, shelter, transportation, small scale renewable energy and forestry, community health and nutrition, and other ways to live simply and affordably in the North Country.
