POTSDAM -- Peak Moment TV airs on WCKN-TV on March 2 and March 3 at 7 p.m. with host Janaia Donaldson who takes a look at how you can contribute your skills towards meeting real needs now and in the future.

Her guests, Paul and Sarah Edwards, are the authors of Home-Based Business for Dummies, focus on the “Elm Street Economy” of locally-owned businesses rather than on “Main Street,” about which we hear so much but is comprised mainly of franchises. In the Elm Street Economy, local businesses meet local needs — for food, shelter, clothing, heating, electricity, healthcare, and other products.

The Edwards suggest: Keep your job and pay off your debts, while gaining enduring skills for the future. A number of today’s professions won’t be around in five years. Read more on line at www.elmstreeteconomy.com and www.letslivelocal.org.

Peak Moment topics include local food production, renewable energy, transportation alternatives, sustainable building, preparedness and psychological, business, and governmental responses. All the programs are available on the internet atwww.wordpress.peakmoment.tv/conversations/ in both video and audio format.

More than 80 Peak Moment TV shows are now available on DVDs which can be borrowed from the Potsdam Public Library from the collection of shows purchased for broadcast locally.
