CANTON -- A live band community contra dance will be held Friday, Oct. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St.
Halloween costumes are encouraged. Beth Robinson will be calling and music will be provided by the Community Contra Band.
The cost is a donation of $5-10 at the door. Beginners are welcome. TAUNY and the St. Lawrence University Contra Club collaborate to offer these dances.
The next dance will take place on the St. Lawrence University campus on Dec. 12.
Musicians interested in playing at contra dances can join the TAUNY/SLU Contra Tune School which meets weekly and plays at the dances.
