POTSDAM -- Literacy of Northern New York will conduct a training session for new tutors beginning Tuesday, June 4.
Volunteer tutors will help adults improve reading, writing, math and English skills.
Volunteers must attend at least four three-hour training sessions, including the orientation and successful tutoring sessions.
Reading tutors must also take two basic literacy learner sessions, while English tutors will take two English as a second language sessions.
All sessions will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Civic Center, 2 Park St.
Sessions will be: Orientation, Tuesday, June 4; English, Thursday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 18; literacy Thursday, June 13 and Thursday, June 20; and successful tutoring Thursday, June 27.
A $25 fee will apply for the course textbook, or borrow the book from the library.
