LISBON -- Lisbon's annual homecoming event will feature music, fireworks, kids games and more.
Events kick off Friday Aug. 15 at the Lisbon Train Depot Museum.
Parade Organizer Nancy McCullough said the museum will have exhibits on display for the public as well as a small train for children to ride on.
There will also be refreshments available.
At 4:30 p.m. the Lisbon American Legion will host a pulled pork dinner, which will continue until it is sold out.
Donny Woodcock and the Back Country Boys will perform from 7:30 to 10 p.m. behind the American Legion at Lisbon’s Firefighter’s Field
McCullough says the Lisbon Legion will be open throughout the homecoming events.
“There will be some seating but we are advising people to bring their own chairs because it will be limited,” she said,
Events continue Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at the Lisbon Presbyterian Church with a community breakfast and a 5k run at the American Legion. The run is sponsored by the Lisbon Wesleyan Church.
McCullough said garage sales will be held throughout the community as well as a book sale at the Hepburn Library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a craft show at the Lisbon American Legion from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Lisbon Homecoming Parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Lisbon Central School, with line-up at 10 a.m. Following the parade, the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue.
Several fire departments from surrounding communities will participate in the parade. Also expected at the event are the Fort Drum Buglers and Celtic bagpipers.
Also following the parade will be the first ever ‘Hero Rush’ obstacle course at firemen’s field.
Seaway Jumpers will have inflatable bounce houses and slides at the Firemen's Field from 3 to 7 p.m.
Music begins at 5 p.m. at the firemen’s field with the Kirk Robinson band playing from 5 to 7 p.m. The Charlton Brothers will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.
McCullough said homecoming T-shirts will be available during the events, but can also be purchased now at Martin’s Feed Store.
A triathlon for children will be held Sunday at Lisbon beach.
“We want everyone to come out and have a great time,” McCullough said.
