Lisbon Homecoming celebration Aug. 18-19 includes races, food, games, live music and craft show

LISBON – The community of Lisbon will hold its annual Homecoming celebration Aug. 18 and 19, with activities scheduled starting Friday night and continuing all day Saturday.

A town-wide garage sale, races, food, games, and live music are among some of the events slated.

The New Buckskins band will perform Friday, Aug. 18, from 8 p.m.-midnight at the American Legion. Admission is $3 for singles, or $5 for couples.

A breakfast served at the United Presbyterian Church at 7:30 a.m. gets things started Saturday. There will be a book sale at the Hepburn Library all day.

A walk/run will step off at 9 a.m. to benefit the Lisbon Food Pantry.

The American Legion is hosting a craft show from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Chicken barbecue will served at the Lisbon Fire Station starting at noon.

From noon-8 p.m., bounce house games by Seaway Valley Jumpers, face painting and children’s games will be held.

Depot Day will be held at the Depot Museum from 1-4 p.m. with the locomotive out for viewing, museum tours, Kenny Friedel and the Golden Spike presentation, the Moo Train, food and face painting.

First Congregational Church will host an ice cream social from 3-6 p.m. in its community hall.

A parade steps off down Main Street at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert with the Outta The Blue Band on Firemen’s field at 6:30 p.m.

Finally, at dusk, fireworks will cap off the celebration.
