Lisbon homecoming begins today with train rides, facepainting and more at Depot Museum; fireworks set for Saturday

LISBON -- Lisbon Homecoming begins today, Friday, Aug. 14 with train rides, face painting and tours at the Lisbon Depot Museum.

The celebration continues Saturday, Aug. 15, with inflatables, a dance, a 5K, vendors, a parade, food, fireworks and more.

All events will be at the firemen’s field, unless otherwise indicated.

Day one includes activates at the Lisbon Depot Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include tours, face painting and train rides.

The American Legion will serve a pulled pork dinner at 4 p.m.

Charleton Brothers Band will perform for a dance at the Legion from 8 p.m. to midnight. There will be a cash bar.

Day two starts with a public breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church. The “Let’s Feed Lisbon” 5K walk and run starts with registration at the Lisbon Wesleyan Church at 7:15 a.m. Walkers start at 8 a.m. with runners going a half hour later.

The Legion will host a craft and vendor sale at 9 a.m. with the Hepburn Library offering a book sale at the same time. There will be garage sales throughout the community.

The Lisbon Lions Club parade starts at 11 a.m.

The Lisbon Fire Department will serve a chicken barbeque at noon.

There will be inflatables from noon to 7 p.m., along with games, activities, food and vendors.

White Church will host an ice cream social at 4 p.m.

Back Country Band will perform from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The weekend closes with a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.
