HANNAWA FALLS -- The Potsdam Summer Recreation Program will offer six-weeks of American Red Cross lifeguard training beginning Monday, June 24.
Sandstoner Park and Postwood Park beaches will be open June 15 to Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Swimmers must use the buddy system and children under age seven must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants must be 15 years old by Aug. 1 and able to swim 550 meters.
The class will be $250 per person. Checks should be made payable to “Potsdam Recreation.”
The program will also offer pre-school aquatics for kids ages three to five at 10 or 10:30 a.m. at Postwood Park, Monday through Friday.
Parent-tot aquatics will also be offered to kids age one to three at Pine Street beach from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday from June 24 to Aug. 2.
Bus runs will be available for swim lessons.
The program is asking for a donation of $25 per child, $40 for two children or $50 for three or more children.
