Learn digital photo management, Craigslist and how to use a Kindle Fire in Potsdam

POTSDAM -- The Fred W. Cleveland Computer Center at the Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., has announced the addition of several classes to its upcoming schedule. Most classes are free, but pre-registration is required by calling 265-7230.

The new classes are as follows:

Using Twitter, Thursday, Oct. 13, 12:30-2 p.m.; Learn what Twitter is and how to use it. Understanding of Facebook is not necessary.

Digital Photo Management, Friday, Oct. 14, noon - 1:30 p.m.; Class covers the basics of storing and organizing digital photos on a PC computer. Learn to create files and move photos as well as retrieve photos from a camera or smartphone. Participants should bring a laptop and power cable as well as a digital camera or smartphone with cables. Basic computer skills are required, including managing files and folders.

Craigslist, Monday, Oct. 17, 3:30-5 p.m.; - Learn how to use this free online classified ads website to buy or sell goods, apply for jobs and much more. Cell phones are recommended, but not required. Register 265-7230.

Using Your Kindle Fire, Tuesday, Oct. 18, noon - 1:30 p.m.; Class will cover using Kindle Fire to read books, install apps, watch movies and more.

Using Skype, Thursday, Oct. 20, 10-11:30 a.m.; Course will cover using the audio and visual communication program to stay in contact and "visit" with friends and family all over the world. Email address required.

Internet Basics, Friday, Nov. 4., 9:30-11 a.m.; Course will cover what the internet is, what it is used for, and the different ways to access it. Participants should be familiar with using the computer mouse and keyboard.
