CANTON -- TAUNY will host a “Learn to Bake Mini Apple Pies” workshop for school-age children on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 3 - 4:30 p.m. at The TAUNY Center in Downtown Canton.
Lead by North Country Heritage Award Winner Lynn Ekfelt, participants will learn how to make a delicious, easy crust-and-crumble kid-sized apple pie while learning how North Country food traditions reflect the region’s natural resources and beauty.
Cost for this class is $12 per participant (or pair, if the child is being accompanied by an adult), or $10 for TAUNY Friends.
Class size will be limited to eight participants. While there is no official age requirement, students not old enough to use a knife to slice apples should be accompanied by an adult or older sibling who can help.
This is the first of a series of cooking classes for kids that will be held through the fall season at The TAUNY Center. Discounts are available for registering for three or more of the five workshops. Call TAUNY at 386-4289 for more details.
