CANTON -- The historical “river” of children’s poetry is very deep and very wide. Some poems that are familiar to English-speaking children originated many centuries ago, and the more recent ones have many different forms.
Learn more about the “History of Children’s Poetry” when John Ohst speaks at the SLCHA’s next Patricia Harrington Carson Brown Bag Lunch Series at noon Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St.
The events are free and open to the public.

Speaker John Ohst, assistant professor emeritus, has taught a variety of English courses at SUNY Canton, SUNY Oswego, and Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.
His favorite course is children’s literature.
