CANTON -- The SUNY Canton Career Ready Education and Success Training (CREST) Center for Workforce Development and the Occupational Health Clinical Center of the North Country are sponsoring two lead renovation safety certification classes Dec. 1 and Dec. 16.
This eight-hour course is required for any renovators or painters to become a certified lead-safe contractor, which is necessary to work on pre-1978 housing, schools or child-occupied facilities.
The training is also recommended for landlords, property managers or homeowners who are completing renovations.
The training will be held at the CREST Center on the SUNY Canton campus from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be taught by Environmental Education Associates, an EPA-accredited organization. Lunch will be provided.
Registration is free if completed by Nov. 28 by visiting https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lead-renovator-training-tickets-29485828908 or by contacting Relani Prudhomme, at 744-0651 or prudhomr@upstate.edu.
