CANTON – The last race in this season’s St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers Duathlon Series is set for the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 17.
The fun race, with run, paddle, and run segments, is to be based at the Little River boat launch off of Park Street. Registration is at 5:30 p.m., and the race begins at 6 p.m. There is no charge.
The two run segments are about 1.25 miles each, and the paddle is about a mile and a half.
A racer can do it “ironman” style, doing both the runs and the paddle, or you can race as part of a team.
Paddlers can use canoes or kayaks with one- or two-person crews. If you need a partner for one segment or another, organizers say there is a good chance you can find one the night of the race.
Typical race times will be between 25 and 40 minutes.
